Zelda Edit

"Zelda Edit," as I've generically dubbed it (I know, not terribly original), is a semi-editor, specifically designed for the Zelda: Ocarina of Time Debugger's ROM. It runs under Windows with the .NET Framework 2.0. At the time of writing (0.9.5), it is capable of patching up common issues with the stock ROM,  can replace actors in several levels, edit certain environmental variables, and position actors in the level to your liking. I plan to add every level in the game, and add a wealth of options that are sure to please anyone interested in Ocarina of Time. It's definitely a bit small at the moment, but it's constantly expanding. That said,  I hope you enjoy what it can currently do! If you use it, like it or hate it, leave some comments in the official thread at our forum.

The program owes a lot to Jaytheham and his wonderful OoT reverse engineering work. Thanks Jay, I'm eternally grateful! While you're here, why not check out his website, an affiliate of ZSO's, Zelda Chaos.

The latest version is 0.9.5.

0.9.5 Changelog:

[major addition] Zelda Edit now has a sub program generically titled "Room File Recalculator" (under ROM Fixes). It will recalculate all vital pointers in a .ZMAP file which are killed when one adds or remove bytes from it, killing the room altogether. Being able to add or remove bytes without having to spend hours manually fixing a file will make editing a much easier job. It's very advanced right now (not entirely user friendly), but it allowed me to add actors to 3 test room which didn't have them originally. It may have bugs and not work correctly in all situations (only tested with transplanting level headers), just let me know if so and I'll fix 'em.
[fixes additions] Added Pre Stalfos Boss Room (Fix + Add Actor), Test Map Add Actor, and Strongbox Warp Add Actor, by using the above program to recalculate pointers after transplanting Stalfos Boss room's header.
[actor replacement additions] All aformentioned test rooms' actors can be replaced.

Usage Notes:

A) To run Zelda Edit, you'll need Microsoft's .NET Framework 2.0. If you don't have it installed, you'll get an "application failed to start" error. You can get it Here.

B) Your ROM needs to be a big endian ROM, modified or unmodified doesn't matter, just as long as its byte order is big endian. As of 0.7.0, ZE detects endianness and will load the byteswapper if the byte order is incorrect. Also, this program currently only works with the Debugger's ROM of Master Quest.

That's all that needs to be known. The interface is pretty straightforward, so you shouldn't really have any problems there. I tested it thoroughly and it should work fine given you keep in mind the above statements.
