Weird Alpha Blue Balls

... you've got to see it to believe it.  Unfortunately, that is impossible with any ROM except the Debug ROM, and even then, it's tricky.

Group Modifier (Kokiri Forest)

Although we would normally warn you about losing files and such, this can only be run on a ROM unless you're willing to delete parts of the ROM's image and make it still work.  Sooo... aside from the legal issues, have fun!

  1. Start the game.  Make sure you have all four controllers active and mapped to keys (I usually map the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th controllers to the same keys).
  2. Press Start on controller 3.  The Debug Camera should now be active.
  3. Press L+R+Z on the first controller.  Map Select will now appear.  Select 5:SPOT04 and press A on the first controller.
  4. Wait until you can see Kokiri Forest clearly, then very quickly press R+D-Down on the second controller.  The game will now freeze.
  5. Use the third controller to manuever the Debug Camera until you're looking at the circle of stones in front of Mido's House (not too close).
  6. Press D-Down on the third controller until you see the blue balls.
They are tricky to spot and fall through the floor as soon as they appear, so you really do have to be quick.  They behave very strangely with the game.  They are not solid, but they react to gravity, just like most other objects.  They also seem to try and form a shadow, although this shadow was actually cast upon a wall instead of the ground, and was huge.  They look too primitive to even be Zelda, as if they belonged to Mario 64 (which was where OOT's graphics engine came from, but was obviously improved).  No idea what they could have been used for (in Mario or Zelda).  Also, the red spots on them do appear to move.  It might be a faulty highlight that adjusts depending on the way you look at it.
