BETA QUEST LOG 0000

This log was developed using the Zelda: Ocarina of Time ROM and cartridge.  Debug information is provided from both the ROM Debug System and the NOA Debug System.  The ROM's key configuration was fire arrows on C-Left, bombs on C-Down, and the Fairy Ocarina on C-Right.  The Infinite Magic and Midday codes were also active while using the ROM.  The cartridge part was done using "Beta Quest as a Kid," "No Name Glitch," "Cutscene Activator," "Appear in Strange Places on Activator," and "Moonjump."  Most of these codes can be obtained from the code list.
Each exit from the starting point (in this case, Hyrule Field) is listed in bold, and next to it is a description of the appearance of the place Link arrives in, whether Link exists or not, and what happens when you activate the cutscene.  These descriptions are as detailed as possible and cover almost every exit possible except for a few exceptions of which are noted.  I have also marked freezes and a brief description of the debug report given by the ROM or cartridge.
Enough said, let's get to the questing!



Start in Hyrule Field, sky dark with an echo effect.  Activate the cutscene (use Appear Strange Places or Walk in Cutscenes when doing so) to arrive in Kokiri Forest, goddess music playing.  A huge Farore can be found in front of the Deku Tree.

Twin's House: Treasure game shop, still beta.  Exit to freeze (address error on store).  Activate the cutscene to arrive back in the goddesses cutscene.
Store: Dodongo Cavern, still beta.  Exit to arrive in Death Mountain Crater (center on large area, just underneath ground, have to use moonjump in order to walk).  All exits are the same as the ones listed under Lake Hylia, but the camera always starts stationary at an odd place with Link in some bizarre location, an unfortunate product of the Walk in Cutscenes code.
Saria's House: Immediate freeze (screen goes blank).  Cartridge Debug not available.
Link's House: Link's house, center of table!  Activate the cutscene to meet Navi.  Exit to arrive in Sacred Forest Meadow.  Enter the temple to arrive in the shooting alley (field background music playing, night version).  No one is at the counter.  Activate the cutscene and the camera starts to roll (I have no idea what cutscene this is).  Interface reappears afterwards.  Link freezes when trying to exit (TLB exception on load).  Exit the meadow to the Lost Woods to freeze (TLB exception on store).  Activate the cutscene to learn Minuet of the Forest.  You then are returned to the meadow, but with a black map and the interface.
Mido's House: Return to beta Hyrule Field.
Know-It-All House: Sacred Forest Meadow, beta, see Link's House above for more info.
Main Exit: Freezes (TLB exception on store)
Lost Woods: Partial warp transition (no sound of warp), freezes (TLB exception on load).
Deku Tree (Moonjump Required): Dodongo dungeon, exits described in detail under Lake Hylia.
Continue onward by activating the cutscene.  You will now arrive in the raining cloud cutscene where the world is created.  Activate the cutscene again (there are no known exits in this area) and you'll be in a white area (Gerudo Valley, a thick fog surrounding Link from about a foot away (virtual dimensions)).  Acitvate the cutscene again and you'll be under Death Mountain.  Moonjump initially to your right, then make your way to the mountain path.
Main Exit: Kakariko Village, normal game.
Goron City: Goron city, beta.  See Lake Hylia.
Dodongo Cavern: Gerudo training center entrance, still beta.  What cutscene could this be?  Activate it to arrive back in the Farore cutscene.  Exit to arrive at Gerudo Fortress, still beta.  Activate the cutscene to listen to the horse racing music (cutscene right before the arrow game).
Desert Exit: Ganon's castle, some room in the tower, rubble burning.  Activate the cutscene to hear racing music inside the tower (weird).  Exit to enter an empty shop (???).  Activate cutscene to hear racing music (again, weird).  Exit to freeze (TLB exception on load).
Main Exit: Reappear under Gerudo Fortress again.
Gerudo Fortress (any entrance): Inside Gerudo Fortress.  Room is invisible, unreachable hallway in the distance, looks orange.  Exit (if you can find it) to again reappear under Gerudo Fortress.  Activate the cutscene to freeze (no debug information available).
Crater: Mountain crater, still beta.  Cutscene is where you learn the Bolero of Fire.  Exits are under Lake Hylia.
Fairy Fountain: Freezes before transition (HumgUp on ../z_play.c:2263)
Activate the cutscene to restart back at Kokiri Forest where Farore is.

Kakariko Village: Kakariko village, on fire.
Exit to Field: Returns to normal game.
Exit to Mountain: Returns to normal game.
Exit to Graveyard: Returns to normal game.
Cooking Lady's House: Windmill, normal game.
Skulltulas' House: System error - Link walks into house, transition incomplete, Link falls through the ground into oblivion.  Error sound loops endlessly.
Impa's House: Cooking lady's house, normal game.
Archery Game Building: Freezes (cause unknown)
Little Kid's House/Item Shop: Shadow Temple, normal game.
Potion Shop: Deku Tree, normal game.
Windmill: Potion shop, normal game.
Well: Large lady's house.  Seems to be the normal game, large lady isn't present.

Domain (Ground): Zora's Fountain, cutscene where Link gets the Emerald.
Back to Domain: Gerudo Valley, goddess music playing, Link invisible.
Jabu-Jabu: Inside Jabu-Jabu, very different from usual.  If you can make it to the exit, you'll end up in the actual Zora's Fountain (if you're adult Link, you'll appear to be exiting from nothing).  You should really look around, it's pretty weird, and the "slimy things" that were once colored are now patterned (really mixed up).
Also, in the room that branches off three ways, there are three exits that are blocked off by slimy things. To get past them, use Moonjump just as you pass through the door until Link goes through the ceiling, then manuever yourself into the corner (don't touch the slimy thing!). Then you can walk through the door.
The blocked chamber on the far left holds just a treasure chest containing Deku Nuts. The blocked central chamber contains jellyfish and the remains of one of those slimes that you kill with the boomerang. If you kill all the jellyfish, a treasure chest will appear holding the boomerang. The third blocked chamber on the far right contains a Piece of Heart (in a chest) and the remains of another slime.   If you manage to trip the cutscene, you'll end up with a TLB exception on store).
Fairy Fountain: Freezes (cause unknown)
Ice Cavern: Iron Boots chamber.  It's difficult but possible to make it to the exit, but all that happens is an "address error on store."  Correlation to ROM Debug messages is unknown.  Activate the cutscene to freeze quite abruptly (TLB exception on load).

Domain (Water): Polygons freeze (unknown cause)

Lon Lon Ranch: Freezes (unknown cause)

Kokiri Forest: Farore cutscene, Link is invisible.  See above under Hyrule Field.

Hyrule Castle Town Market: Freak freeze: TLB exception on load.  Goron shop, still beta.    Exit (if you try to exit right away Link will fall into oblivion) to enter Zelda's garden.  End cutscene music is playing, The End is on the screen (version 1.0 only) and Zelda is staring towards the exit.  Exit to arrive in the Back Alley.  Enter the blue lady's house to arrive in Impa's house.  Exit Impa's house to freeze (HungUp ../z_std_dma.c:595).  Exit the back alley on the opposite side to freeze (strange color pattern).  Exit the back alley the other way to arrive in Child Link's market (Link exits from potion shop).  Enter the potion shop to end up in the Back Alley (Link exits from blue lady's house).  Enter the item shop to arrive in the Happy Mask shop.  Exit to enter the market (Link exits from Treasure game).  Enter the Bombchu Alley to freeze (strange color effect).  Enter the archery game to appear in front of the Temple of Time.  Enter the temple to arrive in the Temple of Time (in front of sword).  Blue light fades, interface accessible.  Door of Time is sealed, but bypassed using Moonjump.  Exit the temple to return to the normal game.  Return to the market (from in front of the Temple of Time) to return to the Market (still beta, Link exits from back alley next to Archery Game).  Head to the Temple of Time to arrive in the room before Volvagia's Lair.  Without the No Name Glitch code, the game will freeze at this point.  Exit the market to arrive in the Shadow dungeon (if you continue going through the Shadow Dungeon you'll eventually freeze with a TLB exception on store).  Exit the dungeon to arrive in the Farore cutscene (see Hyrule Field).  Head towards the castle to arrive in front of Ganon's castle (still beta, interface accessible).  Enter the fairy fountain to enter the fairy fountain (normal game).  Enter Ganon's castle to arrive inside the tower (normal game).  Exit to arrive in the market (normal game).

Gerudo Valley: Gerudo Valley planet creation cutscene (Din), Link is invisible.  Bypass using Walk in Cutscenes or Appear Strange Places.  Rescue Link from his fall via moonjump and try to find solid ground.  There is a plane of white fog that is a set point away from the camera, which makes vision almost impossible.  However, using the ocarina or any other C button will show Link.  If you can find a wall and follow it you should arrive at Gerudo's Fortress (night, beta).  Same as the rest.

Lake Hylia: Arrive in Dodongo Dungeon, room before the boss.  Exit to arrive in Volcano.  Enter the Fire Temple to arrive at the Forest Temple.  Exit to arrive at Lake Hylia.  Enter the laboratory to arrive in the tent in Gerudo Valley (running man is the only person there).  Exit to freeze (strange color pattern).  Enter Zora's Domain to freeze (address error on store).  Enter the Fishing Game to arrive back in Dodongo Dungeon (Link can't move).  Exit the lake to freeze (strange colors).  Enter the path to Goron City to arrive inside the laboratory.  Exit to freeze (address error on store).  Enter the fairy fountain to arrive in the fairy fountain (still beta).  Fairy will not come out.  Exit to arrive in front of Hyrule Castle (Link exits from the hole where the fairy fountain is).  Get caught by the guards to freeze (strange colors).  Exit to arrive in the market (Link exits from the Temple of Time).  Market exit details are above under Hyrule Castle Town Market.

Warp Songs:
Prelude of Light - Freezes, unknown cause.
Requiem of Spirit - Freezes, DmaCopy illegal ranges.
Minuet of Forest - Freezes, DmaCopy cartridge address 14000000 changed to 00000000, transfer done.
Nocturne of Shadow - Ganon's Tower, collapsing.  Exit to arrive inside the main room with Zelda and the zombie.  Exit to enter the stairwell.  Exit the stairwell and room to arrive at the first defeat of Ganondorf.
Bolero of Fire - Hyrule Castle, beta map, about night.  Interface accessible.  Get caught to freeze (unknown cause).  Enter the castle to ... Exit to return to the regular game.  Enter the fairy fountain to...
Serenade of Water - Freezes, DmaCopy cartridge address 3A0B424B, transferred to 020B424B, DmaCopy illegal ranges.
