Gameshark Codes

There are five different released versions of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.  Knowing which version you have is crucial to using Gameshark codes, and some glitches usable on older versions are remedied in newer versions.  Use the Debug Procedure to find your version.  If you are playing Zelda on a computer using an emulator (UltraHLE, Nemu64, etc.) see Computer ROM.  Please note that some codes for the cartridge versions are not usable in the ROM version.

Also, ZSO does not encourage anyone to use the computer ROM unless they agree full responsibility of their actions.  ZSO is in no way accountable for promoting computer ROM usage.

GAMESHARK WARNING: Using Gameshark (any version) with Zelda can make your game, system, and Gameshark unstable.  Common symptoms are cartridge sensitivity to movement, color glitches (screen suddenly shows a bunch of weird colors), codes not working properly, and file loss.  Code Generator may also cause the game to freeze whenever you exit the In-Game Menu, and initiating a code search may freeze the Gameshark.  Saving cartridge data onto a memory card may also freeze the console and corrupt your memory card.  Be careful when using Gameshark with Zelda.  If you are trying to beat the game with it, it is highly recommended that you do not use Code Generator or the Beta Quest until you have beaten the game.  These two, in particular, are notorious for making the game and console unstable.
Also, the majority of codes offered on this website are not supported by Interact or Action Replay.  Interact/Action Replay are in no way responsible for any damage caused by these codes.

1 - Can be found on the promotional discs Ocarina of Time & Master Quest and Zelda Collection, which were packaged with Wind Waker and a Zelda GameCube.
2 - Can be found on the promotional disc Ocarina of Time & Master Quest, packed only with reserved copies of Wind Waker.
3 - Has been spotted floating around online.  It is not available for sale or found with any promotions (at least, so far as we know), so the only way you can play it is via an emulator.  Please do not ask us for this version of the game.  We do not distribute ROMs on this site or provide directions to ROM sites, so asking will only waste your time and ours.  Thank you.
